TOP 8 At List TRUE STORY WAR MOVIES TO WATCH

To all my blogs this is my most favorite so far, as I am really a fan of True story movies. All the movies that will be listed here really touch my heart. So let me show you my 8 At List.

1. FURY (2014) The story focus on a grizzled tank commander Don “Wardaddy” Collier (Brad Pitt) and his crew Trini “Gordo” Garcia (Michael Pena), Boyd “Bible” Swan (Shia LeBeouf), Grady Travis (Jon Bernthal), and a Young solider name Norman Ellison (Logan Lerman).
The tank commander Don was a tough soldier and has a strong personality. At the start of the story there is a lone nazi soldier riding his horse through a field where a battle has been fought. As he ride passing through the dead bodies, blown up tanks & vehicles. He was not aware of the busted tank of US Army Don Collier & his crew, as Don Jumps out and stabs the nazi repeatedly. Don sets the horse free and returns inside of his tank where his crew are sitting down. I won’t tell all the stories here as I recommend everyone to watch it so they can really feel the movie and emotions that comes with it. My favorite part of this movie is almost at the last part. As they won’t leave their tank “FURY” no matter how many German enemies is about to come to their place still they fought back bravely. Everyone must put this on your list to watch.

2. SAVING PRIVATE RYAN (1998) - A Drama & War movie but true to life, With the most powerful actors, Starting with Tom Hanks as (Captain Miller), Tom Sizemore as (Sergeant Horvath), Edward Burns as (Private Reiben), Barry Pepper as (Private Jackson), Adam Goldberg as (Private Mellish), Vin Diesel as (Private Caparzo), Giovanni Ribisi as (T-4 Medic Wade), To be honest I don’t want to include this guy to the cast due to my anger towards him for his actions on this film this actor is Jeremy Davies as (Corporal Upham), and the last powerful actor for me is Matt Damon as (Private Ryan). So now I will just tell some short things about the film, what the story is about is the title itself “Saving Private Ryan”. Private ryan has three brothers killed in action during the battle. So when their mother, Mrs. Ryan receives all three of the grave telegrams on the same day. The US Army Chief of Staff, George C. Marshall, is given an opportunity to alleviate some of the grief of Mrs. Ryan when he learns of a fourth brother, Private James Ryan. And decided to send out some men for this mission which is Captain Miller and his selected members from the 2nd Rangers to find Private James Ryan and bring back to his mother. If your heart is strong as a stone I think you deserve to watch this movie as it will melt your heart as the story of this movie touches your heart deeper.

3. THE ENEMY AT THE GATES (2001) Are you a fan of Any Sniper?! IF not I bet you would be after watching this amazing film. The story is about the between Germany and Russia, It is the Battle of Stalingrad in the winter of 1942 and 1943. The Russian were defending Stalingrad while Germany keeps pushing forward. The most things I like about the movie is about the snipers of both sides. Both sides had a very good sniper but even the good ones of the Russian side were beaten by the one of the best sniper of Germany. The marksmanship of this sniper was astonishing and I am really amazed on the strategies that they used trying to defeat one another. It is included in my list as I’ve never seen a very good sniper battle before yet true story.

4. PEARL HARBOR (2001) This movie is very famous even during my high school days, My teacher used to play this movie for us to watch as she was saying it was as good movie and a lot of understanding in our history. The Story is about World War II, when the war breaks out in Europe. But the battle on Pearl Harbor was between the Allies and the Japanese troops, now this not the typical battle between tanks and soldiers on foot but it is more on air battle. It was December 7, 1941 when the Japanese navy begins its attack on pearl harbor. Many soldiers from the allies died in this massive attack by the Japanese troops but the outcome of the battle, the Allies manage to defend the territory. After this battle the president of United States President Franklin Delano Roosevelt delivers his day of infamy speech to the nation and asks the US congress to declare a state of war with the Empire of Japan.

5. BLACK HAWK DOWN (2001) Be prepared for Goosebumps while watching this film. Such a great true story. Very detailed scenes. It is a very close to disastrous mission in Somalia on October 3, 1993. On this date nearly 100 U.S Army Rangers, Commanded by Capt. Steele were dropped by helicopter deep into the capital city of Mogadishu just to capture two top lieutenants of Somali Warlord. Can you image just to capture two vigilant men they need to deploy 100 troops? And this led to a very large and outrageous fire fight between the Army Rangers, US Special Forces and Hundreds of Somali Gunmen. In result two of U.S Black Hawk Helicopters were destroyed. So Many good and epic scene of this movie it focuses on the heroic efforts and sacrifice of various Rangers to get to the downed black hawk. It also show the true brotherhood in the Army.

6. DOWNFALL (2004) - During the era of Hitler, I think most of the people think that the dictatorship of this man would never end. And maybe it feels like there no hope for all of us. But in April 1945, the wind turn back as the Germany stand at the brink of defeat with the Soviet Armies closing in from the west and south. In berlin, Capital of the Third Reich, The dictator Adolf Hitler proclaims that Germany will still achieve victory & order commands to his Generals and advisers to fight to the end even if it is clearly to know the outcome of the battle. I feel sorry for some of innocent Germans who just want a peaceful life. Even to the dictators children a very innocent one who was killed by their own parents just to protect their own beliefs. So sad that at such a young age the life was ended. They did not even give them a chance to see the world the other way around. To know more about Adolf Hitler, his family and the Germans. Kindly please watch this movie.

7. LONE SURVIVOR (2013)Don’t ever try to leave your place when you’re watching this movie as you don’t want to miss any part of this movie. That’s how good this movie is. Having Mark Wahlberg as (Marcus Luttrell), Taylor Kitsch as (Michael Murphy), Emile Hirsch as (Danny Dietz), and Ben Foster (Matt “Axe” Axelson). It’s not just a brotherhood but how to survive in that kind of situation. I cannot imagine someone will survive if so many terrorist are chasing after you can’t even take a minute just to rest. Especially in that place. Saddest things the reinforcement you are expecting happen to fall down. You’ve gain hope as you see the backup troops but when they fall, all hopes vanish in an instant. Never take off your eyes, the movie, and every scene is the best part of it.

8. AMERICAN SNIPER (2014) I thought only the Russians and Germany has a great sniper. But even Allies do have. Not just a sniper but a legend. The story is about Chris Kyle the American sniper act by Bradley Cooper. A U.S Navy Seal that become one of the most extreme sniper in American history. His outstanding marksmanship saves countless lives that makes him the prime target of a big terrorist around the world. Especially in Middle East.
Being a soldier is not easy, in a battlefield there is always different enemies a man, woman and a kid. It’s either you die or they die.

Watching true story film is the best. It makes you feel that your part of our history. And it gives us more knowledge on what happen in the past. How lucky we are that we did not feel what our ancestors feel that day during the wars.
